How your invitation gets made

You describe the occasion in your own words — who it is for, when and where it is, and which language it should be in. Nothing is designed from a template; the wording and the artwork are made for your celebration.

You approve the exact invitation wording first. Then a still preview of the artwork is made, and you check it — the names, the spelling, the date, the venue. When that picture is right, it is brought to life as the short film your guests will watch. If you asked for a song, it is written and recorded alongside.

There is no separate "publish" step. The moment your finished film is ready, your link starts working and you are shown Open and Share. If you would rather nobody saw it yet, you can switch the invitation to Hidden straight away in Settings.

Check the still preview carefully — that is the moment to catch a misspelt name. Once the film has started being made it cannot be stopped, and it is made from the artwork exactly as you approved it.

What your purchase covers, and what is free

One purchase covers one invitation, complete: the artwork, the film your guests watch, and the recorded song. There are no separate charges inside it.

The film is created once, from the artwork you approved — that approval moment is why the still preview matters. Multi-ceremony celebrations are covered by the same purchase, up to eight parts on one page.

If something fails while your invitation is being made, it costs you nothing — failures are always made good automatically.

Before you pay

Everything up to the point of creation is free: describe your celebration, settle the wording, and read the words of the song we would sing for your family. When it feels right, one purchase unlocks the creating — and you approve the artwork before your film is made.

There are no plans, no subscriptions and no credit balances to manage. One invitation is one purchase; a second celebration is simply a second invitation.

Your link, and how long it lives

Your invitation is given its own web address the moment you start it, and that address never changes — not when it goes live, not when you correct a detail, not when you hide it and bring it back. It is safe to print it or send it once.

By default an invitation stays live until about 30 days after your event date, worked out from the date you gave in the chat. You can change that date to any future day, or clear it so the invitation stays up indefinitely — both from the invitation’s Settings.

If we cannot read a calendar date from what you wrote, or you never gave one, no end date is set at all and your invitation simply stays live until you decide otherwise. A singing wish, which has no event date to count from, always gets an end date of 90 days from the day it goes live.

The 30 days are counted from the one main date in your brief, not from the last of several ceremonies. If your final ceremony falls much later, set the end date yourself.

Please note your own end date. You can always see and change it in Settings, and we would rather you had it in mind than relied on a reminder from us.

Hiding, taking down and deleting

• Hidden — guests who open the link see a short note saying the host has made it private. Switch it back to Public and the same link works again, exactly as before. Nothing is lost.
• Take down now — ends it immediately rather than waiting for its end date. You can bring it back at any time by setting a new future date or clearing the date entirely.
• Delete — moves it to Trash and the link stops working. You can restore it from Trash for 7 days, and the same link works again. After 7 days it is erased for good, along with its artwork, film and song.

When an invitation ends, guests do not hit a broken link. They see a small page saying the invitation has ended and the event has passed. It does not show your name or your phone number.

Changing things after you have shared the link

The written details on your invitation page — the names, the date, the time, the venue — can be corrected at any time, and the correction appears for everyone straight away. The link does not change and you do not need to send it again. The "add to calendar" details and the preview card that appears when the link is pasted into a chat update too.

The finished artwork and film are different. The lettering is drawn into the picture at the moment it is made, so a corrected detail does not change what the film shows. Re-making the picture or the film of an invitation that is already live is not available yet.

This matters most when a ceremony’s date or venue changes, because your page and your film would then tell guests two different things. If that happens the studio warns you plainly and offers to start a fresh invitation instead.

You can add another ceremony to a live invitation. That rebuilds the whole film, so it is charged for every part and not only the new one — the estimate is shown before anything is spent — and your existing invitation stays live for guests the entire time, with the longer one swapping in quietly when it is ready. An invitation can have up to eight parts.

If you would rather start again without disturbing what your guests already have, make a copy. It brings across everything you typed, your photographs and the song’s words, opens as a fresh draft, and leaves your original live and untouched. The copy has its own separate link, so anyone holding the first one keeps seeing the first one.

Photographs, and what your guests can see

The photographs you upload are used as a likeness reference so the people in the artwork resemble the real people. They are kept privately to your account.

Your original photographs are never published. The page your guests open is only allowed to serve a fixed list of the pieces made for that invitation — the film, the still it rests on, the backdrop, the closing loop, the song, and any separate ceremony films. A request for anything else, including a photograph you uploaded, is refused.

Please be aware that your family’s likeness is published even though the photograph is not: the artwork is deliberately drawn to resemble the people in your picture.

Guests cannot add photographs of their own to your invitation. They can watch the film, turn the music on or off, add the date to their calendar, get directions and share the link. Guest photo sharing is not available today.

Every upload is reviewed automatically before it is saved. Sexual or graphic images are refused, as are images that appear to be face-swaps or fabricated pictures of real people. Ordinary family photographs are the normal case and are expected to pass.

A published invitation is a public web page: anyone holding the link can open it, without signing in. Removing a photograph from an invitation stops it being used there but keeps the file in your account’s media library — delete it from the library to remove it for good.

Languages and scripts

There is no fixed menu — you say which language you want, in your own words, and your invitation is never quietly written in English without asking. You can have a second language line alongside the first, and you approve each one before anything is made.

Your names and your wording are passed through exactly as you typed them, in your own script, with an explicit instruction never to translate them or spell them out in English letters. On the invitation page they are ordinary text, so guests read them character for character.

In the artwork the lettering is drawn rather than typed, so it can occasionally come out mis-shaped. That is precisely why you are shown the still preview and asked to check the spelling before the film is made.

Songs can be in any language you ask for, with Tamil, English, Hindi and Telugu offered as ready choices. Please listen to your song before you share it — if it is not right, you can switch to another version if one was made, or record a new one.

Common questions

What can I do before paying?

Describe your celebration, shape the wording in your own language, and read your song’s lyrics — written about your family — as many rounds as you like. Creating the artwork, the film and the recorded song is what the one-time purchase unlocks.

I have already sent the link and the venue has changed. What can I do?

Correct the venue and your invitation page updates for everyone immediately, using the same link. The finished film will still show the old venue, because the lettering is drawn into the picture — so your page and your film would disagree. The studio warns you when that happens and offers to start a fresh invitation. Adding a part rebuilds the film, and making a copy gives you a clean version on a new link.

How long will my link keep working?

By default until about 30 days after your event date, and you can change or remove that end date whenever you like from Settings. If we could not read a date from your brief, no end date is set and it stays live until you end it yourself. Please make a note of your own end date rather than waiting to be reminded.

Will my guests see the photographs I uploaded?

No. Only the pieces made for the invitation are published — the film, its still, the backdrop, the closing loop and the song. Your original photographs are never served to guests. Do bear in mind that the artwork is drawn to resemble the people in them, so your family’s likeness does appear even though the photograph does not.

Can I redo just the one picture I do not like?

Before your film is created, yes — redo the artwork as often as you like, with a note about what to change. Once the film has been made from the artwork you approved, the picture inside it stays as approved.

Can I stop it once it has started making my invitation?

No. Once it has begun, the work is under way and is charged whether or not you keep the result, so there is no stop button. You can safely close the page and come back — leaving does not cancel anything. This is why the still preview is the moment to check the spelling.

Will guests hear the song straight away?

Usually, but not always. The film and the song are made at the same time and the film often finishes first, so an invitation can go live while the song is still being recorded. If you try to share before the song has landed we warn you, and once it is finished it plays for everyone on the same link.

Does a bigger plan let me invite more people?

A published invitation link is a public page — there is no limit on how many people can open it, on any plan. A paid plan gives you more credits, more storage and more work running at once, not a longer guest list.
